Trust

Trust
What is trust?
Trust is being able to depend and not doubt someone or something. Trust is being able to rely on that person no matter what.

Why is trust important?
Because without it a relationship can't exist. You would always doubt them and expect the worst. You would always doubt if they had your best interests in mind instead of just what they can do for themselves. Whether that be by using you or bringing you down to higher their self confidence.

How do you obtain trust?
You have to always be honest no matter what. You have to be able to trust the other person too at least try and understand. You have to be 100% honest all the time or else things might be miscommunicated and you get yourself in even more trouble than you would have if you had just been honest. Apart of people trusting you is that they know that you will always be there for them in times of hardship or trouble. Also, show interest in what they find interesting. This shows them that you care about them enough to do things that you may not want to do.  Listen to them.

What does the Bible say about trust?
Better an open reprimand than concealed love. The wounds of a friend are trustworthy, but the kisses of an enemy are excessive. -Proverbs 27:5-6

A friend imparts constructive criticism out of love, but an enemy gives kisses with deceit in mind. (Holman Christian Study Bible). This means that even harsh words from a friend are spoken out of love. Because they want you to be the best you can be, because they love you. Someone can tear you down though if all they are doing is building up your pride and we all know that pride goes before a fall. We need to be able to trust our friends to have our best interests in mind. Sometimes they can see stuff that we can't. They can see if something will hurt us or not benefit us in the future.
