Isaiah 40:28-31
28Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. 29He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. 30Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; 31but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

Sometimes we can forget that God never runs out of strength or maybe we feel like He can't handle a situation. But we need to remember that He never sleeps nor does He ever grow tired. We can turn to Him with anything no matter how big or small and I feel that a lot of people, including myself, tend to forget this and think that they can handle it and that God doesn't have time or He can't help. Let's look at this verse by verse real fast.
Verse 28. This is basically saying what I said above. Isaiah is trying to remind people that God has an unlimited source of energy and He can do everything. I mean He created the world so that qualifies Him to handle anything you might need help with. He already knows what we are going to ask before we do and He is very willing to help if we just ask or just let Him help us.
Verse 29. This is a very helpful verse that we should all memorize especially when we are going through a hard time. When we feel weak or something has happened to make us feel down, we feel like we can't do anything but we need to know that God will give us the strength to get through whatever we are going through. He will always be there and be there to help us and hold us up even when we think no one cares or is there. He will never leave or forsake you. (Deuteronomy 31:6)
Verse 30. Everyone gets tired and everyone has bad days. Even those with the most strength and the youngest.
Verse 31. But if we rely on the Lord, He will fill our energy levels to levels we never knew we had. There has been many stories about how people in suffering have just called out to God and He has helped them in so many ways whether they realized it or not. If you have ever heard of the book Hiding Place that is one of the numerous examples of how He has helped people in the middle of heavy suffering. But He also helps you in many small ways that we may think are not the beneficial but in the end we realize that it is exactly what we needed.

In conclusion, the main thing that you should pull away from these verses is that God will give you what you need when you need it and He will help you in times of trouble and when you feel like you have nothing left in you. He will help you and has promised to, many times in His Word. He will help you through the hardest things and even the small things.

  1. Well said and much needed as this time of year can be very tiring as we all run around trying to prepare for Christmas, but God gives us strength when we need it and causes us to seek rest when it is needed, but his resources are inexhaustible. Thanks for the great blog!
